Challenge
How can we design next generation audio that physically and behaviorally morphs to the user. Adapting its shape, fit, and sound to their body and context in real time and define how modern integrated audio works?
Pain Points
- Has to evolve around the user, physically and behaviorally
- Earbuds fall off or lose grip during movement (walking/running, in the gym)
- Sound gets unclear in busy environments
- Fit doesn't adjust, reducing bass and audio quality it is meant for
- Devices don't sense or respond to the user's profile
Solution
Hyper Kopplad is an earpod that morphs to the user. It solves the problem through a non-absorbing, shape-shifting closed-cell foam. Soft and minimal at rest, firming and reshaping the instant it senses motion.
This is paired with the sound that's calibrated to the same context, becoming clearer and more noise-isolated as the foam expands. Together, the physical form and the sound continiously improve around the user, rather than requiring the user to adjust the device.
