Challenge
How can we design an interactive learning environment for primary school students with a clear overview of the online workbook for teachers, so they are intrinsically motivated to learn?
Solution
By turning the online workbook into a virtual world, progress becomes something the students can see and get excited about. Every completed assignment moves them forward, unlocks something new, and shows how they are doing.
The more they can learn, the more worlds they can play. This gives students a reason to play and learn in their own development, without it ever feeling forced. Teachers and parents get a clear overview on their end, while the student just experiences it as playing and exploring.
What stood out during research is that kids are motivated by discovery and challenges. The games they play are familiar to them. And they want to know how their friends are doing. They want to level up. The platform taps into exactly that, connecting natural behaviour to educational goals.
The outcome is a learning environment that students want to open up. Proving more results from their reactions feeling rewarding and motivated and memorising more of what they learn.
